Living the Dream
The publication of her inspirational book, Women I Adore, has ended nine years of struggle for burgeoning writer Lynda Taylor.
When presenting her book to many major publishing houses, Lynda was encouraged to write about recognizable faces, movie stars, models and the like all high-profile women --
in order to see her work published; however she made a conscious decision to stick to her guns, and rejected this suggestion. Instead, her book, Women I Adore, celebrates real
women, ordinary mums, sisters, and friends -- not the fake faces seen airbrushed and botoxed beyond belief in our media.
After constant rejection, and being told she
was a no-body and that her women were not recognizable, Lynda made the decision to set aside her pages and just get on with her life. Over the years Lynda would often take out her
beautiful images and words and dream of them in book form. A chance meeting with publisher, editor and all-round nice person Emma Borghesi from Brolly Books started a process which
would ultimately see Women I Adore become the inspirational and enriching book Lynda dreamed it would be.
Women I Adore was born from a desire to celebrate the womaness
in each of us. It is a tribute to some of the wonderful women in Lyndas life, and more importantly recognizes the importance of celebrating the beauty and connections that enrich our
lives. Included in this beautiful publication are blank pages that allow the reader to personalize the book and place images and words of their own shining women within, acknowledging
and celebrating them.
It has sparked an interest in the market that allows the reader to relate to these real women -- no movie stars or super models, just amazing everyday
women. It shows the appreciation we have for the women we adore and recognize the influence they have had on our journey.
